The Torviscosa light engineering revamping project wins the Federchimica Responsible Care award

Milan, Italy , 11/05/2018

At the presentation of the 24th Responsible Care Report, Federchimica (Italian Federation of the chemical industry) awarded the winners of the 2018 national prize dedicated to the best corporate sustainability projects. The Bracco Group was awarded this prestigious recognition with the lighting revamping project at the Torviscosa manufacturing plant.

The project, based on LED lights, has brought remarkable benefits to Bracco imaging’s Friulian facility (photo attached). The new lights - over 400 less compared with the previous system - are fitted with brightness intensity and directional beam regulators. The system is entirely automated, and can even be monitored and managed through the company’s intranet, which also provides a reading of energy consumption.

The benefits gained from the lighting revamping project have been numerous: from the workers’ improved visual comfort in various areas and departments, to the reduction in electricity consumption and of the plant’s carbon footprint; from the optimization of preventive maintenance thanks to early identification of irregularities in each light, to the ease of overall monitoring of the system due to the variations in consumption and to the timely indication of potential problems.

Maurizio Di Francesco, Energy Manager of the Bracco Group, accepted the award from the President of Federchimica, Paolo Lamberti.
